Sara Sells Morgan serves as Assistant Director of the Art Museum of South Texas located in Corpus Christi, Texas. Sara is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she received a B.A. in Art History.

After graduation, Sara moved to Los Angeles where she began her career in the arts, working for the museum exhibit design firm, Rogow and Bernstein, and eventually working for L.A. Louver Gallery. In 1989, Sara relocated to her home state of Texas, accepting a position at the James Schubert Gallery in Houston as an art consultant. During her time at James Schubert, Sara consulted with U.S.A.A. Insurance and Financial Services Company, purchasing art for the home office’s Executive Dining Room and Executive Offices, as well as commissioning art for several common areas. After marrying and moving to Corpus Christi, Sara began working at the Art Museum of South Texas as an Event Coordinator. Following the birth of her first child, Sara took some time off to be a stay-at-home mother to her two daughters, but remained active as a community volunteer. Sara has served on a number of boards including C.A.S.A., Board of Trustees of the South Texas Institute of the Arts, Church of the Good Shepherd, St. James Episcopal School, Kappa Alpha Theta and Charity League.

Returning to the workforce, Sara was hired by Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in 2009 and worked in the Marketing and Communications Department as the Community Services Coordinator, and in the Development Department as the Stewardship Coordinator. Sara was hired as the Assistant Director and returned to the Art Museum of South Texas in 2013. Sara’s current position as Assistant Director provides her with the opportunity to utilize her extensive experience in project management, event coordinating, finance, development and stewardship
